FORMAL GARDEN

The formal garden is a tribute to all the beautiful gardens we have seen in England. It has a central rectangular bed containing a large pedestal fountain and two benches set in sand colored gravel. There are two urns on plinths surrounded by the daylilies Siloam Baby Talk and Siloam Ury Winniford, and variegated liriope. This central bed is bordered by three other flower beds.
There is the yellow and white bed consisting of yellow daylilies, yellow and peach roses, Lamb’s Ears, Dusty Miller, yellow leaved spirea, and yellow variegated butterfly bushes which have deep purple blooms. There are two statues depicting the seasons of summer and winter, which are backed by trellises covered in blue clematis vines and white climbing Roses.   The bed is also planted with purple flowering hardy geranium, white and yellow herbaceous and tree peonies. In the spring, hundreds of yellow and white daffodils bloom bringing sunshine on even the most cloudy of days.

The second flowerbed is the purple bed which has two wooden white tuteurs that support purple clematis and purple annual vines. It is planted with purple and lavender daylilies, roses, hardy geranium, sedum, columbine and German Bearded Iris. The bed is flanked by two pink flowering weeping cherry trees and tree peonies. The bed is planted with pink daffodils which in spring gives the bed an aura of pink cotton candy.
The third bed is a mix of pink, peach, and white colors. There are daylilies, herbaceous peonies, roses, German Bearded Iris, liatris, violets, blue globe thistle, sedum and Japanese anemone.
This bed has the look of an English Cottage garden with all the plants cheek to jowl.
