Monet’s Petite Allee
This garden is a small version of Monet’s grand Allee. It has three arches coved with Clematis vines. Monet’s arches were covered with climbing roses, but; since our garden is down in a valley, we have difficulty in growing climbing roses due to the colder winter temperatures. Presently we are trying the new Knock-Out roses to see if they fare any better. Also planted in this bed are the native orange daylily, German Bearded Iris, Dutch Iris, Siberian Iris, dahlias, camassia or Wild Hyacinth, oriental poppies, black-eyed-Susans, oriental lilies, and baptisia.
Monet is my favorite artist so I thought it would be fitting to have a garden in his honor.
Garden under refurbishment, photos coming soon!
