Rose, Herb and Vegetable Garden


The Rose, Herb and Vegetable Garden is a small garden surrounded
by white vinyl picket fencing and has a gate allowing entrance through a covered arbor.  
There is a brick path bordered by boxwoods  which enclose roses, daylilies,
German Bearded Iris, Oriental Lilies, and Tall Phlox. The rose garden is separated
from the Herb and Vegetable garden by a trellis covered in a hardy Kiwi vine.  
The Herb and Vegetable garden consists of four raised garden beds in which grow herbs,
tomatoes, lettuces and daylily seedlings.  Each year there seem to be more daylily
seedlings than vegetables.  These beds are surrounded by gravel paths, have a concrete
bench in one corner and an Armillary in the center of the garden.  

There is nothing like picking red ripe tomatoes, tender lettuce, and fresh
basil for a garden salad with blue cheese, balsamic vinegar,
olive oil, sea salt and fresh ground pepper.  
Add a loaf of rustic bread, a glass of chilled wine and lunch is served.
